Whenever I speak

my lips are

chilled - autumn wind

Autumn has finally arrived here in Italy as well, so this week I opted for this fall-themed haiku by Basho. My understanding is that this poem has become a well-known Japanese proverb, meaning “It is better to leave many things unsaid”.
