We're excited to return to London to celebrate the release of Leon Clowes' debut album, Empirical Evidence of the Existence of Angels.
Join us at Shai Space in Peckham for a full listening session of the record in an intimate setting, followed by a conversation and Q&A with Leon about the music and the ideas behind it.
The evening will begin with a live performance by Spanish sound artist Subespai.

Leon Clowes
Leon Clowes is a trained musician who has lately become a multi-disciplinary artist of sonics, stories and socials.
“Empirical Evidence of the Existence of Angels” exemplifies Leon’s unflinching eye and carefully attuned ear. Four years in the making, this 45-minute album features collaged acoustic instruments (piano, violin, recorder), storytelling of early addiction recovery and electronic ambient minimals.
This album developed slowly over four years. The first part created was the spoken word text for the title track. This originates from an art experiment that took place a month after I began attending Alcoholics Anonymous meetings daily. For 11 days and 11 hours in September 2021, I noted the time, place and thought in my head every time I saw a feather on my walks around London or while at home. The purpose of doing this was to empirically evidence the existence of angels.
Subespai
Subespai is Mauri Edo, a Menorca-based sound artist working with found sound, repetition, and volume. His latest album "Saints" (Oxtail Recordings, 2025) weaves field recordings of traditional Menorcan festivity tunes into expansive, longform soundscapes rooted in memory, place, and isolation. His work has been featured at Radiophrenia, Ultrasons, and Celobert festivals, and released through Audiotalaia, Oxtail Recordings, and Naviar Records.
