Janice Doppler spent her writing energy on grant proposals and curriculum development during her career as a teacher and school administrator. Retiring enabled her to develop her creative self—carving realistic birds from wood and nature journaling.

Her heart was captured by haiku during a senior center workshop that she attended on a whim. Her haiku and haibun have been widely published. She placed second in the Porad Haiku Award in 2021 and 2022. Her collection, Stardust, is available on Amazon. You can read samples of her work at The Poet Hub.
